MB Century
MB Century, having provided the Concept Design and FEED study, was tasked with the Detailed Design of this Steamfield optimisation. MB Century, as the Principle Contractor, facilitated coordinated design and hazard reviews, developed steam blow procedures and commissioning pholisophies. Our deliverables included 3D modelling, fully detailed construction drawings and Bill of Materials. In addition MB Century provided design engineering support during the construction and commissioning phases.
Responsibilities
Project Management of design process
Supply of Engineering drawings, calculations & specifications
Execution & facilitation of safety assessments & design studies (HAZOP, DDR, Operability / Maintainability and Constructability Reviews)
Preparation of Commissioning philosophies / plans
Preparation of Steam Blow procedure
Process design, mechanical design, civil / structural design (by others), EC&I design (by others)
Project outcome
Project implementation resulted in redistribution of geothermal resource between Nga Awa Purua and Rotokawa Stations that increased electricity generation. This change has resulted in an additional 5MW of generation.
