Piripaua Power Station - Class 4 Maintenance

Project:

Maintenance of both hydro units at the Piripaua hydro station. This project included upgrade of the water filtration system, oil cooling, stator cooling, new guide vanes, stator re-wedge and stayvane installation for efficiency improvements.

 

Objective:

The aim of this project is to restore service reliability for the next 25 years of operation before the next turbine replacement project will be undertaken.


MB Century’s Role:

Working collaboratively with our client under the newly established target price model.

MB Century completed the maintenance program including the stayvane install on both units.

Project outcome:

The stayvane install together with the guide vane replacement increased the efficiency of the units as desired. The turbine and generator maintenance will ensure increased reliability for the next 25 years.
